It is absolutely amazing to be a part of the Corpus Christi Academy family. I am proud to be with “The Academy” as I come from a family of educators; my grandmother, mother, father, and both of my sisters have spent their lives in education. The Diocese of Cleveland has been my home for the last 22 years as an educator and administrator. I presently reside on the Diocesan Principal Advisory Committee to ensure the sustained growth and success of all diocesan schools. Similarly, I have joined the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. As one of nine charter members of the Cabrini Fellowship through the Center for Transformational Educational Leadership I have embarked on a two year journey to “form a cadre of outstanding school leaders at both the (arch)diocesan and national levels, serving as mentors and coaches for each other and fellow Catholic school leaders to continue to strengthen this mission” and the mission of Corpus Christi Academy. It is my goal to have a direct impact on the students, faculty, and parish communities and to instill positive values like empathy, social awareness, and human dignity, while remaining reflective, balanced, and open-minded. I will promote and facilitate success that is realized through programs that encourage familial interaction with the school, creation of a number of avenues for open communication, provision of opportunities to involve students, parents, and the community in volunteer efforts, and collaboration with the parish communities to ensure the sustained success of all of our students.

When I am not at Corpus Christi Academy you will find me with my wife at horse shows, cooking, or cheering on the Browns, the Buckeyes, the Cavs, and the Indians. It is truly a blessing to be a part of the Corpus Christi Academy family and I look forward to a future of sustained success embodied by a culture of learning, excitement, and faith that permeates the entire Corpus Christi Academy community.

Dean of Students:

Mrs. Ashley Fry
afry@corpuschristiacad.org

I am extremely excited to be a part of the Corpus Christi Academy family as their Dean of Students. This is my second year with CCA and I have over 15 years of experience in Education. Prior to joining the Eagles staff, I served as the Assistant Principal at University of Cleveland Preparatory School.

I was born and raised in The Bahamas and then moved to the United States to continue my education. I attended Florida International University in Miami, Florida where I studied Early Childhood Education. I received my teaching credentials and Bachelor of Science degree. I began my educational career in New Orleans, Louisiana teaching Pre-K. I then moved to Bloomington, Indiana where I also taught Pre-K. It wasn’t until I met my husband and moved to Cleveland, Ohio that I began to teach first and second grade. In 2017, I transitioned out of the classroom and into Leadership roles. I find joy in seeing teachers and students grow and progress in their educational journey.

When I am not at work, you can find me spending time with my husband Chris and our 2 beautiful daughters, Hazel and Violet. I am so thankful and blessed for this opportunity and look forward to the coming year filled with student growth and memorable events.

I am a graduate of Boston College and of Ursuline College where I received my Master in Educational Administration. When I’m not at work, I enjoy traveling, gardening, cooking, and spending time with my family. I look forward to the continued success of Corpus Christi Academy!

Grade 1:

Ms. Catherine Prendergast
cprendergast@corpuschristiacad.org

I am so excited to become a member of the Corpus Christi school family!
Catholic schools have been a huge part of my life. My parents sent all 5 of their
children to St. Jerome Elementary school in Cleveland and either Villa Angela or
St. Joseph for high school. The education, values and spiritual guidance are still
with me today.

I received a B.A. of Education from the University of Akron in 1992.
I have taught for 30 years at various grades: preschool, pre-k, kindergarten and
first grade, where I have been teaching for the last 18 years. I believe all children
can be successful when you find the right key.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy cooking, reading, traveling and spending time with
my dogs Rosie and Stanley. I also follow the Cleveland Browns, Guardians and The
Ohio State Buckeyes.

I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to guide students to become the very
best they can be spiritually and educationally

Grade 2:

Mrs. Carmyn Craig
ccraig@corpuschristiacad.org

Hello everyone, My name is Carmyn Cremonese-Craig and I am a second year teacher. I am overjoyed and so thrilled to be fulfilling my passion of teaching. I graduated from Notre Dame College in South Euclid where I majored in Early Childhood Education along with Special Education.  I originally grew up in Euclid, Ohio where I went to Ss. I just recently got married back in May to my wonderful husband Nathan. We live in Fairlawn Ohio and we enjoy collecting coffee mugs from the different places that we travel to.

My mission as a teacher is to always be dedicated to the students and to create a safe and welcoming space for all of my students. I want every lesson to be engaging and inviting for all students to make learning enjoyable. I have known from a very young age that I have always wanted to be a teacher. I enjoy watching students grow and building great connections with each and everyone of my students. I look forward to an amazing year!

Grade 3:
Mrs. Au’Dree Calhoun-Ekwuenechi
acalhoun@corpuschristiacad.org

I’m thrilled to be joining the Corpus Christi Academy community this fall as the 3rd grade teacher! With over 25 years of experience in education, my greatest passion is inspiring young minds and making learning fun, meaningful, and exciting. I believe in challenging students while nurturing their confidence and creativity.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where I attended St. Henry’s Catholic School and graduated from Bedford High School. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Akron and completed graduate coursework in Humanities with a concentration in Ethnic Diversity at John Carroll University. My love for cultural studies also took me to Santa Ana, Costa Rica, where I explored Spanish language and culture firsthand. I am currently completing my Master’s in Educational Leadership and Principal Licensure and will begin my principal internship at Corpus Christi Academy this fall.

Outside the classroom, I’m a humanitarian at heart who loves traveling, dancing, and listening to music—especially with a bit of chocolate nearby! I’m also a proud mother of three adult children, a grandmother of three, and married to my amazing husband from Nigeria.

I look forward to building a joyful, engaging classroom where my students grow academically and personally every single day.

In addition to my stated interests, I also enjoy playing saxophone, playing a variety of board and video games, continuing to serve in Appalachia through yearly service visits, and enjoying life with my wife through games, shows, and the seemingly unending home improvement and repair projects.

My three older children, ages 7, 13, and 17, keep me busy driving to and from activities, but when I do have some free time I enjoy reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and cheering on Cleveland sports teams.

I started at CCA in 2017 as a 4th through 8th grade math assistant teacher and math resource person. Being involved in the classroom with the teachers and students in this way is a great “second career” for me. On a personal note, I am blessed to have 2 adult children and 6 grandchildren that provide me with many wonderful family experiences. I am certified by the Diocese of Cleveland as Lay Ecclesial Minister with degrees in Theology and Psychology from Notre Dame College and a Masters in Theology from Saint Mary Seminary.

When I’m not doing the work I love or taking care of my elderly parents, you can find me taking hikes with my dog, working in my garden, or sipping tea and reading. I spend as much time as I can with my grown children, but my true joy is spending time with my beloved grandsons. I am a St. Clare alum with a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and I look forward, with God’s grace, to supporting the children, families and staff of Corpus Christi Academy.
