Meet Our Teachers & Staff
Preschool – 3 & 4 year olds:
Mrs. Teri Davisson
I’m so excited to open the doors of Corpus Christi Academy Preschool to three and four-year-old children for the 2017-2018 school year. I am a graduate of Ohio Dominican University with a Bachelor of Science in Education and a seven-year participant of the Hawken Early Learning Institute. This will be my 14th year in preschool with twelve of them at St. Clare. When I entered the world of preschool, it was then that my true passion for teaching came ALIVE!
My husband, Stan and I, some years ago, were the proud “parents” of a delightful little white West Highland Terrier named SPARKY. Although Sparky is no longer with us, she will play a big role in our classroom, as you will see for yourself when you enter.
I love all animals, especially the eagle, and since it is the mascot of Corpus Christi Academy, I eagerly await teaching my “eaglets” how to spread their wings and FLY!
Miss Donna Olp
I’m a singer of songs and a teller of tales
(Which they say is quite common with forebears from Wales).
I’ve a Master’s in Reading, but it’s Math that I love.
And the teachings of Christ I can’t get enough of!
It’s laughter I’m after, and kindness . . . that, too.
I teach Kindergarten—What else would I do?
Mrs. Terri Ringenbach
I’m very excited to join the Corpus Christi staff. I graduated from the University of Akron with a BS in Elementary Education (grades 1-8). I later attended Ursuline College to add my Kindergarten endorsement. My first three years of teaching were in kindergarten at Mt. Pleasant Catholic and fourth grade at Archbishop Lyke. For the past sixteen years I’ve been teaching at St. Clare, in Social Studies for grades 6 – 8 as well as 8th grade Religion, Reading, and Vocabulary. I’ve also spent many years as a camp director and counselor at Hiram House Camp and as a St. Clare Sunday School teacher to four-year-olds.
My husband and I live in Lyndhurst with our two children, Brett and Sarah, both of whom will attend CCA in the fall. I love to swim, go to the theatre, and go dancing. As a family we love to go on bike rides and we cheer on the kids in baseball and gymnastics. I look forward to getting to know everyone as we begin this great new adventure.
Miss Christine Shipley
Welcome aboard Corpus Christi Academy families! I’m looking forward to the new adventure that is before us and am very excited to be your second grade teacher. I am a graduate of Lake Erie College in Painesville. I hold a P-3 license with a K-12 reading endorsement. I began my career at St. Mary’s in Painesville where I taught Kindergarten for a year and first grade for a year before they closed. I found a new home at St. Clare where I have been the second grade teacher for the last eight years. I am passionate about providing my second-graders with creative challenging lessons that build upon first grade concepts and skills. I also look forward to guiding my students into a deeper relationship with Jesus in this Sacramental year!
I have lived most of my life in Chesterland. I enjoy my country summers but not the snowbelt winters! I have a younger brother, supportive parents, and two cats! I enjoy spending time by the water, New York City, musicals/theater, time with friends, going to concerts, listening to music, watching baseball and basketball (despite the squeaky shoes), knitting, photography, collecting quotes, and dancing (I have taken Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Ballroom & Irish dancing)! I look forward to getting to know all of you as we we sail into second grade together.
Fun Fact: I love all things nautical/beachy, but I get so motion sick that I can’t actually ride on a boat!
Mrs. Lindsey Phillipp
Hello! My name is Lindsey Phillipp and I’m the third grade teacher at Corpus Christi Academy. I am a Kent State university graduate and I hold a license for Pre-k through fifth grade. I previously worked in a school with the Diocese of Youngstown for five years where I taught both second and fourth grade. For the past three years, I have taught third grade at Saint Clare.
When I am not at school, some of my interests are traveling, crafting, staying active and completing one of my many home improvement projects. I also enjoy spending time with my husband Tyler, our dog Bix and our kitties. I absolutely love teaching and can’t wait to start the first year at Corpus Christi!
Grades 4-5 Math & Science:
Mrs. Linda Parker
Hello CCA community! I graduated from Malone University with a BS in Elementary Education (K-8). For the past sixteen years I have taught fifth grade at St. Clare School. In addition to my fifth grade homeroom, I added fourth grade math to my schedule ten years ago. In my years at St. Clare I have enjoyed working with Student Council, Spiritual Life, Aftercare, and the spring musical.
My husband, John, and I will be celebrating our fifteenth wedding anniversary this June. We are so blessed to have a two-year-old son, Brayden. He is truly our miracle child and such a blessing in our lives. We love spending time together as a family, which includes Brayden’s best friend, Bella (our dog). My husband and I love to travel. Whether it is to another country or another state, we always find interesting things to do and see. We love seeing plays and sporting events together (we are big fans of all Cleveland sports teams). We also like to take cooking classes together. My husband is the chef in the family, but I do a pretty good job keeping up with him. I also enjoy photography, singing, and spending time with my friends and family.
4th Grade Homeroom: 4th/5th Language Arts:
I am thrilled to be a new member of Corpus Christi Academy! I am a graduate of Ohio University with a BS in Education. My degree is in Elementary Education and I am licensed in grades 1-8. I am entering into my seventeenth year of teaching! Within that time I have taught seventh and eighth grade, third grade and I also taught many years in early childhood. I have been blessed to teach in public and Catholic schools, and most recently at Hathaway Brown School, where I was able to do some amazing trainings and professional experiences. My love in the classroom has always been reading, literacy, and storytelling and I am excited to work with fourth and fifth graders as we explore these ideas together along with social studies and religion for my fourth grade homeroom. We will work together to build a classroom community and make many discoveries along the way.
My husband and I live in Chagrin Falls with our two teenagers, Allie, and Brett, who both attend Chagrin Falls High School. We attend St. Joan of Arc Parish in Chagrin. College is fast approaching, so we try to do many activities together as a family; which includes our black lab, Opal. I love gardening and finding any time outside in nature. I also enjoy reading, painting and designing. I am looking forward to being a part of this Catholic community and to continue my teaching at Corpus Christi!
Grades 6-8 Language Arts:
Ms. Luci Kopcak
Hi, I am a graduate of John Carroll University with a major in education, history, and a minor in French. As a cheerleader I developed a love of football which still continues today. My three children Michael, Christopher, and Darice, their spouses, and three grandchildren Brady, Olivia, and Michael are the apples of my eyes. Of course my kitty, Pinki, so named for my favorite color, rounds out my family. Celebrating the usual and unusual holidays is also my trademark. Doing arts and crafts, gardening, traveling, and of course baking are some of the activities that I enjoy. I guess my love of teaching began at an early age when I would pretend the stuffed animals were my students. Little did I know that someday I would be my children’s teacher – a dream come true. Over the years my love of teaching has had exponential growth and the dream continues.
Grades 6-8 Math & Science:
Ms. Lisa Tanno
Hi! I am Lisa Tanno and I am excited to be able to teach junior high math and science. This will be my 10th year teaching middle school. Although I was born and raised in Northeast Ohio and graduated from John Carroll, the first 6 years of my teaching career were spent in Orlando, Florida. My family and love for home brought me back to the cold! In my spare time, I love being with my family and friends, running and hiking with my dog, Jack, and watching all Cleveland sports.
Grades 6-8 Social Studies & Theology:
Miss Patricia Mascia
It is an honor to be a part of Corpus Christi Academy. Although I “cherish the past,” I look forward to “embracing the future.” Teaching has always been my passion. It is a blessing to come to school each day knowing that I am doing what I love. I attended St. Joseph Collinwood, St. Paschal Baylon, Notre Dame Academy, and Notre Dame College. My theology studies have been inspiring and have helped to deepen my love for the Good God. I am lucky to have a “spunky” 88-year-old mom, three younger brothers, nieces and nephews and very good friends. In addition to teaching, I enjoy all kinds of music especially Motown and jazz and look forward to Edgewater Live in the summer. I appreciate art, especially Impressionism. Reading biographies and playing Nintendo on a rainy summer day are great pastimes. You may also find me watching sports in the comfort of my home. I so look forward to meeting my new seventh and eighth graders as well as their parents and together, with our principal and staff build our new Corpus Christi family.
Grades 7-8 Language Arts:
Señora Patricia Emping
¡Hola! My name is Señora Emping. I came from Argentina 25 years ago after attending college and I became an elementary school teacher in Math, Spanish, Science, Social Studies, Art and Physical Education. Over my 32 years of teaching, I’ve had very interesting experiences with children from preschool through eighth grade. In 1999 I took my oath to become an American citizen. I am very proud to live and work in this beautiful country and to have the opportunity to share my heritage with all my students.
I believe learning foreign languages and cultures gives children a global perspective and encourages tolerance. We live in a world with many diverse cultures and the more we provide students with the tools needed to understand this diversity, the better off they are going to be. Learning another language also helps students develop their listening and thinking skills. My students are encouraged to think fast and to reason in Spanish; It is very good training for their minds.
I am very excited to share this beautiful and interesting culture and work for this brand new school. I know we are going to have a wonderful time.
Mr. Joseph Prevesk
I attended Benedictine High School class of ’94 and graduated from Mount Union College with a B.A. in Physical Education. While at Mount Union I played football and won two Division III National Championships in 1996 and 1997. I’ve coached CYO basketball and currently coach High School Baseball and Football.
I have three children, Joseph, Alyssa and Gino. Both Joseph and Alyssa graduated from Sacred Heart of Jesus Academy and my youngest, Gino will be attending Kindergarten next year at Corpus Christi Academy. My wife Maria and I both attended St. Clare and we are excited to be a part of this great new beginning. I look forward to helping make this transition a success.

Band (Music Alliance)
Mr. Tom Trost
I am blessed and excited to serve as your band director at Corpus Christi Academy! I have a Bachelors of Music Education from Indiana University, Bloomington and have been teaching for 23 years. I live in Wickliffe with my wife, Sheryl and our two sons. When I’m not busy providing taxi service to my boys I enjoy reading, movies, bicycling and kayaking. I also enjoy baking or, more accurately, eating what I bake. My main instrument is the euphonium (baritone horn), but I also play the trumpet and trombone professionally.

I’ve been happy to help with many volunteer roles over the years at St. Greg’s and Sacred Heart of Jesus Academy.
I have two children, ages 10 and 12 who are CCA students as well. They look forward to going back to school with their old friends and making new ones, too. I’ll be that mom you’ll hear at Corpus Christi sporting events yelling “Go Eagles!”
