PTG Board Members

Wendy Trivisonno
President

My name is Wendy Trivisonno, I am a proud mother of two. I have a sophomore at NDCL, and a daughter who is in fourth grade at Corpus Christi Academy.

I am honored and excited to serve as our PTG President.  I love our school, and I truly have it’s best interests at heart. My goal is for our students and staff to know and feel that they are truly valued.

I am extremely proud of what we have overcome in the past year to become a united student body, and I want to be part of creating a strong Corpus Christi Academy legacy. I believe a collaborative effort from parents and teachers can most definitely achieve that!

I have been a room parent for both of my children for the past four years, as well as an active parent volunteer. I have chaired several successful school events, such as the Corpus Christi Academy Halloween Party, the Sweethearts Dance, and I am also currently co-producing the school musical, Annie.

My husband is one of our Athletic Directors, and is on the Booster board. I feel that this brings the unique opportunity for communication and cooperation between PTG and Boosters.  We hope to work together for many more joint ventures for our students in the future.

I know that all of us can create wonderful things for Corpus Christi Academy, TOGETHER!

Laura Baumgardner
Vice President

Hi there!  I am Laura Baumgardner and I am excited to serve as Vice President of Corpus Christi Academy’s Parent Teacher Group.

We chose CCA for our daughter because the thought of a brand new school, with fresh new ideas and the opportunity to start new traditions was exciting!  I am passionate about taking those new ideas from all members of the PTG and creating an atmosphere where parents and teachers have formed a united group to make our children’s time here the very best it can be.  We all have heartwarming memories of our own elementary school days and I know that creating an environment for our children to make wonderful memories of their own is important to all of us; a strong PTG is the way to make that happen.  From fundraisers and classroom parties, to special events and more, I am committed to making CCA the very best it can be for all of our children and for all of us.

This past year, I chaired both the “Snacks with Santa” event and the “Penguin Patch Gift Shop.”  I learned a lot in putting together these two events and am excited to implement new ideas for next year! Along with helping out at other PTG events throughout the year, I am a Room Mom and have enjoyed working closely with the Faculty and Staff at the school.  Professionally, I have much experience with planning and executing special events for adults and children, fundraising, and logistics.  As President of my employee Union since 2011, I have learned the importance of bringing together both sides of an organization (employee and employer) to foster a cohesive working environment with effective communication, conflict resolution, and successful negotiations. Those skills transfer seamlessly to the PTG and I am confident that as Vice President, my experience will support the purpose of the Parent Teacher Group:  “To be a source of communication between Parents, Administration, Faculty, and Staff concerning Corpus Christi Academy.”

I look forward to the opportunity to work together to make Corpus Christi Academy a wonderful place to be!

Bethany Goedecke
Treasurer

I am the proud mother of Lorelai (Grade 4), Taryn (Grade 1) and August (not yet enrolled).  My husband Matt and I chose to enroll with the new Corpus Christi Academy to be a part of something we feel will be extraordinary!  We believe in the core values of the school, and have witnessed the compassion and strength of the CCA community this year.  We wish to have our kids continue to grow with the Academy, and feel that parent volunteering is an essential part to that success.

This year I served as Treasurer for the CCA PTG and would like to continue in this role.  The year has created a starting foundation for the organization with a blend of events from both schools and a few new events.  I have helped to plan the before school family picnic; created the spirit wear order forms and catalog creating a seamless ordering process for families; set up and coordinated the rise and shine breakfast; and am co-chairing the spring walk-a-thon in May.   In addition, I lead the Junior and Brownie Girl Scout troops for St. Clare.

I am the HR and Total Compensation Manager for The Smithers Group in Akron.  My 21 year career in Human Resources has given me the ability to look at situations differently and appreciate everyone’s perspective.  I look forward to a new year with fresh ideas and new volunteers.  To further the organization, I would like to set up committees of volunteers for Fundraising, Spirit Wear, Elementary School, Middle School and Jr. High Events, and more.  This will allow for more opportunities for parents who want to be involved at differing levels (lead, support, or be behind the scenes).

As parents we all want the best education and environment for our children to succeed.  The Parent Teacher Group is the heart that connects our students, parents, faculty/staff and parishes for a successful future.

Karen Stovall
Secretary

For over 18 years I have been an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.  I have been married to my husband Earl for 20 years and have four children, two of which are enrolled in Corpus Christi Academy.  My son Ryan is in 4th grade and my daughter Aiyana in 8th grade.  I was a member of the Corpus Christi Steering Committee as President of the Uniform Committee.  As a member of the steering committee I was a very big supporter in the merger of two fantastic schools and the formation of Corpus Christi Academy.  I am extremely passionate about the success of our school and feel I would be a good fit for the PTG.

I currently oversee all gym uniform orders and am the co-room parent of grade 8B.  I have also enjoyed a number of opportunities to volunteer  for field trips, service projects and class projects this school year.

I have been very fortunate to have been able to attend a number of this year’s PTG meetings and have gained a greater insight into the  hard work that goes into our school and what it takes to make it a success.    I thoroughly enjoy being a part of the Corpus Christi family and am very fond of the children and faculty.
